Last Night’s Lunar Eclipse Video Raw Footage
I took my vidya camera outside last night to see how the lunar eclipse would look on video tape. Here’s the raw video footage:
For some reason, the player sticks six seconds into the thing, just slide the slider over a bit and it’ll start back up, there must be something strange with the video file I made. I’d try to fix it, but it hardly seems worth it for raw footage, I’ll put this together into something nicer soon when I finish a vidya blog post about lunar eclipses.
There were clouds throughout most of the eclipse as we had just had a lot of rain earlier that evening. Still, it doesn’t look TOO bad considering all I did was put up a tripod and hit the record button.
At about one minute into the video, you can see where I overexposed the lunar disk to highlight the curvature of the Earth. I thought it came out pretty good.
The clouds started rolling in pretty heavy about 30 minutes into the event so I just went inside, I wasn’t able to get the full thing.

Thank you SO much for this footage!! I was only able to see the end of it so I was pleased to see that someone actually taped it from the beginning. Despite the wobble I am very pleased with the footage.. I am very fond of Astrological events such as this and would have been at a loss if I missed the whole event.
Well done! And again, Thank you very much!
