Life Changes
One of the best things about life is that nothing stays the same for long. If life were static and unchanging, it just wouldn’t be natural.
Since my last post, my life has changed dramatically, but because I’m a blogger and need to stretch out my posts, I’m going to be annoyingly cryptic here and say that I’ll be posting more about this in later posts.
I’ve noticed that bloggers do that. Whenever they have big news about their lives, they drag it out like the drama queens they are. I don’t really claim to think that you actually care about this news because you don’t really know me from Adam, but I’m hoping that the time you’ve spent reading this blog and getting to know me at least makes you curious.
I’ll give you a taste: I’m leaving solar physics to help map dark energy.
I know! How cool is that?

Oh, wow, really? Da’amn, I wonder how that happened!
Did you ever wonder whether it was coincidence that Jesus and Julie both start with a J. Well, my dear, ’tis a mystery no longer. Merry Christmas!

Tony, I love your blog. Half the time, I admit, I have no idea what you are talking about. Makes no difference.
Mapping dark energy sounds very sexy.
Tell us more you tease.

Hello Tony!
I’ve been thinking of dark matter lately and now that I’ve read your post about mapping dark energy…It’s really a great news for me :D. I love the way you discuss things in astronomy. You make things simple and easy to understand :D.

@Gabriel: Not only is it sexy, but it’s good for you!
To be clear, I shouldn’t have used the word ‘mapping’ but more like ‘measuring’ since dark energy is pretty uniformly distributed across the universe. Mapping it makes it sound like there is more of it in one part than in others, which isn’t strictly true.
Don’t worry, I’ll give more clues as time goes on.
@erika: thanks so much for reading this blog. I try to write things so I can understand them because, let’s face it, I’m not the brightest star in the sky by a long shot. I need all the help I can get.
