Read the above book, it’s written by the same guy who wrote The First Three Minutes: A Modern View of the Origin of the Universe
It is a collection of essays that deal with everything from the boundaries of scientific knowledge, designer universes, what happened before the Big Bang, and many more very interesting ideas. His writing style is very easy on people without a science background and he is very good at presenting his thoughts.
I promise you this book will make you think.
