Sumbitchin’ Clouds

SumbitchincloudsMan, it’s cloudy in Illinois. I’ve seen the sun about twice in the two weeks I’ve been here. Today there is a nice, clear sky, so I may try and see Mars this evening.

Times like this make me miss Colorado…

I hope many of you got the opportunity to go out where you were to take a gander at the Red Planet. We’z asa close to it aza we gonna get for a whilz.

Here’s what I most definitely did NOT see (nor would I have if it had been clear last night):

They pointed the HST toward Mars on December 17th to get the above image. Tom’s Astronomy Blog has a great post about it so I won’t elaborate here.

Enjoy the show, Mars’ll still be looking great all through the holidays…

    Tony,

    Here in Central Texas, crystal clear skies… and Mars so bright! I swear it’s brighter than in 2002.. But my ’scope is in storage…
