Taking An Aurigid Meteor Shower

I got out at about 4:30am to check it out and started seeing my first meteors around 5:00am with the peak occurring at about 5:25am or so. I thought about turning on the video camera and pointing it at Auriga, but by the time I got outside, I was pretty sleepy and just didn’t have the energy. So, I sat out in my lawn chair and took a meteor shower.
There wasn’t a large number of them, but what I did see (22 altogether) were brighter than what I typically see during the Perseid shower.
The above really cool picture was taken by Chris Peterson, I saw it on SpaceWeather.com. This all-sky hints at how bright some of them were.
The above link to SpaceWeather.com shows some more really nice images and some reports of people who got up (or in my case, stayed up) to see it.
